Coach's Expectations
Head Coach’s Expectations
The Head Coach is the leader of the team. He sets the tone for good sportsmanship. Outlined below are Hoops expectations for our head coaches. Head Coaches are responsible to ensure assistant coaches, players and fans understand the expectations at Hoops. These will be posted at each scorer’s table and will be enforced by the referees and the Hoops staff.
1. Each coach must assign someone from his/her team to either keep score or run the clock. This person must not be involved with helping to coach, cheering or arguing with the referees. The scorekeeper and clock person are to focus on ensuring the accuracy of the clock and the score.
2. Each team is allowed a maximum of 3 coaches on the bench (1 head coach and 2 assistant coaches).
3. Only 1 coach may be standing and engaged with the referees during the game.
4. Once a coach gets a second technical foul he/she will be asked to leave the facility immediately, and for the remainder of that game. Failure to leave immediately will result in forfeiture.
5. The Head Coach is responsible for having his/her players clean up the bench area and their water bottles after the game.
These expectations are to ensure the coaches, players and fans have the best experience possible while at Hoops. We appreciate you taking your time to volunteer as a coach and to be a positive role model for your players.
