Which one is for you?
Recreational League is instructional. It is for Kindergartners through 9th grade. Introduce your young athlete to the game and test out his/her desire to play. The youngster who can't wait to come each week or needs the extra running time for all that energy continues playing in the league enjoying the weekly activity, bettering his/her skills each week and putting it all together in a friendly, fun "real" game atmosphere. From 5th grade on up we see players who are dedicated to the game and play in every session; we also see kids who may have chosen another sport as their favorite but basketball keeps them fit and they enjoy being with their friends. The rec league is the starting point and a great place to come again and again for the love of orange.
Competitive Division 1 and 2 Team Leagues are for the boys and girls who may have played on a team that did well in the season and now they want to stay together and test their skills a bit. Newly formed teams, fresh off the season teams make up the D2 leagues. They'll play other teams inthe similar situation so they can all grow together. Seasoned teams who've been together, may be considering becoming a travel team or are registered as an AAU or USSSA team are the D1 teams. After the high school season, many high school teams form AAU teams to keep the kids competing. The competition steps up a notch in these games. Games get more serious. Coaches aren't always volunteers or dads in these leagues. It's the next step or couple of steps. These teams hold their own practices when they schedule, where they schedule (court time is available at discounted prices to Hoops League participants). League play is game-execution only. Show up with your game face on, then its anything goes after tip off. We can't wait to see. Fans are encouraged to come and make some noise for their teams. We cheer for the love of orange, how 'bout you?!Adult Leagues: Whether you played in high school, college or your back yard all these years, the adult league keeps you in the game. "Hoops men's leagues are the best in the city," according to many of our participants. No need to sweat, the leagues are divided by skill or age and the best part, you pick your level. No more tryouts unless your buddies are just mean. Put together a team--pick out a crazy name or launch out as a 'free agent' and see what happens. You may get drafted afterall. Many employers will fund physical activities for employees, see what yours does and play in the Corporate League. Some corporations put together their own leagues. We've got the courts, bring your company to Hoops and set up your own league like LG&E. We'll get you in the game at Hoops.
